Agniveers get 2-year extension, higher pay: Key changes under scheme explained
With Diwali approaching, nearly 20,000 Agniveers will have the opportunity to serve for two more years. The Union Cabinet's decision follows the initial batch nearing the end of its four-year service term. As many as 75% of Agniveers were scheduled to leave the armed forces. The revised scheme allows these personnel to gain further experience before being considered for permanent roles.
