Railways ordered to pay Rs 35,000 to passenger as train delayed by more than 8 hours
A Jharkhand consumer commission ordered Railways to pay compensation for a significant train delay. The passenger received thirty thousand rupees for harassment and five thousand for costs. Railways failed to prove the delay was beyond their control. The commission cited a Supreme Court ruling on passenger time value. This decision highlights consumer rights against service deficiencies.
