Fed's 'ample reserves' approach is a focus of Warsh's balance sheet review
Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh is reviewing interest rate policy and balance sheet management. The central bank is examining the ample-reserves regime and its bond holdings. Warsh indicated a full return to pre-crisis policies is unlikely for the Fed. He stated any changes to the balance sheet would be deliberated and public. The Fed's balance sheet expanded significantly after the 2008 financial crisis.
