Blocked debit card without notice: commission orders Federal Bank to pay Rs 1.25 lakh
A Kerala consumer commission ordered Federal Bank to pay compensation for blocking a debit card. The customer and his family were stranded at Kuwait International Airport due to this action. The bank failed to inform the customer about the card's blocking and replacement. This deficiency in service caused significant hardship and trauma to the complainant. The commission awarded Rs 1.25 lakh for mental agony and litigation costs.
