Armen Ataian gets bail after over year in custody: Court asks Ukrainian actor to deposit passport
In a significant ruling, a Mumbai court has allowed bail for Ukrainian actor Armen Ataian, arrested over allegations of citizenship fraud for apparently presenting a forged birth certificate to gain Indian citizenship. Detained since February 19, 2025, the court emphasized that Ataian's foreign nationality alone did not justify bail denial, as investigations remain ongoing.
