Gandhi Jayanti: Are NSE, BSE closed for trading on October 2?

Stock trading will be halted on October 2, 2026, in observance of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti. Both the National Stock Exchange and Bombay Stock Exchange will be closed for the day, along with the Multi Commodity Exchange. Investors have faced declines for four consecutive sessions, impacted by foreign selling and escalating crude oil prices. The trading schedule will also be affected by the upcoming Dussehra and Diwali holidays.
