Why thousands of Goldman Sachs workers can no longer use Claude Code, GitHub
Goldman Sachs has banned most non-technical staff, including traders and bankers, from using AI coding tools like Anthropic's Claude Code and Microsoft's GitHub, according to Bloomberg. Access is limited to engineers and strats after the bank reviewed productivity and risk concerns. The move has frustrated traders who used the tools for financial modelling and tracking client trading flows, months after its CIO praised vibe coding.
