Global Market: Kospi slips as Samsung, SK Hynix decline before earnings
South Korean shares fell after the holiday break, with the KOSPI declining 0.49% as chipmakers weakened ahead of Samsung Electronics’ third-quarter earnings. SK Hynix dropped 2.72%, while foreign investors sold 564.5 billion won in equities. Gains in battery, auto and steel stocks partly offset losses, while the won weakened slightly.
