Cabinet okays new body to bring roads, rail, ports, aviation under one planning framework
India's government has approved the creation of the Integrated Transport and Logistics Authority for better planning. This new agency will oversee projects exceeding Rs 500 crore in various sectors. ITLA aims to improve coordination among transport ministries and ensure multi-modal integration. It will develop a comprehensive National Transport Master Plan with a ten-year horizon for effective planning. The authority will also establish a unified transport data repository for project assessment.
