Man hikes out of mountains to get help after getting impaled by a trekking pole
A nurse impaled himself on a trekking pole while climbing Montana's highest peak. He decided to self-rescue after assessing his condition and considering costs. The group carefully descended the mountain for over six hours. They reached a vehicle and drove to a clinic, then a hospital. Doctors removed the pole, and the nurse returned to work.
