'Kireedam' title was originally planned for Mammootty film
Director Sibi Malayil shared the original title for Kireedam was not intended for Mohanlal. The iconic title Kireedam was first suggested for a Mammootty film by Lohithadas. I.V. Sasi did not like the title, and Lohithadas offered it to Malayil. Malayil immediately claimed the title, believing it suited their story perfectly. The sequel Chenkol also received its name from Lohithadas, connecting to Kireedam.
