Paid for AC bus, got non-AC ride and was dropped 10 km early; commission orders Rs 31,500
A passenger booked an AC bus ticket from Hyderabad to Rajahmundry but was placed in a non-AC bus. After being dropped off 9-10 km from his destination, he faced significant inconvenience at midnight. The consumer commission found the bus operator liable for deficiency of service due to the circumstances experienced by the passenger. It awarded the passenger Rs 31,500 in total for mental harassment and litigation costs.
