Why Navies Sink Old Ships: US tests weapons on ex-USS Juneau; India runs similar drills
The US Navy recently sank the decommissioned USS Juneau in a "SinkEx" exercise off the Mariana Islands. This drill, involving air, surface, and submarine forces, tested weapon systems and provided crucial real-world training. Such exercises, also conducted by the Indian Navy, validate ordnance effectiveness and demonstrate operational readiness. Rear Admiral Eric Anduze highlighted the integration of joint capabilities for high-end Pacific operations.
