J&K HC restricts motorboat operations on Dal Lake

The high court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh has ordered a ban on fuel-powered motorboats and jet skis on Dal Lake. Authorities are directed to enforce this prohibition strictly to protect the lake from pollution. The court suggested exploring solar-powered boats as an alternative for tourism-related activities. Emergency services and safety operations are exempt from this ban. A comprehensive policy on motorised boat operations is expected for further review.
