Man who owned historic home 51 years keeps it after ASU drops takeover bid
Arizona State University withdrew its eminent domain lawsuit against the historic Louis Emerson House to preserve the property. The decision followed widespread public opposition and a successful campaign led by John Young and Barry Schwartz. They generated substantial support through a petition that collected over 12,000 signatures. The university had filed the lawsuit seeking to acquire the property for a medical campus.
