Rupee ends flat as RBI intervention, portfolio flows blunt Fed hike impact
The Indian rupee stayed stable against the dollar on Thursday, bolstered by anticipated central bank interventions and equity index rebalancing inflows that limited declines. Meanwhile, most Asian currencies faced a downturn following the interest rate hike by the US Federal Reserve. The dollar index remained elevated, surpassing 100, while the Reserve Bank of India effectively curtailed surplus rupee liquidity from the market.
