UK charity that began with one van has now rescued 10m meals in nine years
In 2017, Yvonne Thomson founded UKHarvest to address food waste and assist individuals facing food insecurity. Initially starting with one van, the charity has impressively salvaged 10 million meals throughout its journey. Its initiatives, including Community Food Hubs and Grub Clubs, offer not only affordable food but also valuable education. Collecting about 10 tonnes of excess food weekly, UKHarvest enjoys the patronage of Queen Camilla, amplifying its community impact.
