Kolkata home registrations dip 12 per cent in Jan-Sep; larger flats gain share
In the first three quarters of 2026, home registrations in the Kolkata Metropolitan Area fell to 41,309, highlighting a year-on-year decline. Yet, there was an observable trend towards mid-sized and larger apartments. Specifically, September recorded 4,845 registrations, down from the previous year, with North Kolkata dominating 36% of the total shares. This data reveals a growing preference for spacious and practical living spaces among buyers.
