Asean emerges as fastest growing region for exports
Latest data available with the commerce department showed that India’s exports to Asean went up 56% during the first five months of the fiscal year as oil product shipments soared 2.4 times to over $6.1 billion, with Singapore accounting for almost threefourths of it. What also helped was a 20-fold jump in computer hardware to $1.4 billion to Asean countries and strong growth of electric machinery (82% to $1.6 billion) and buffalo meat (42% to $1 billion)
