Judge says Paramount and Warner Bros Discovery must halt merger for at least two weeks
A federal court has intervened to temporarily suspend the merger of Paramount and Warner Bros Discovery following objections from twelve states concerned about competitiveness in the film industry. The judge’s restraining order will pause the merger for a minimum of two weeks, providing the states the opportunity to argue their case against the merger. A hearing to discuss a preliminary injunction is scheduled for August 3.
