California teen's quantum-error method beats top 2 rivals in 100K tests, wins $25K
Alexander Miller, an 18-year-old student from Irvine, California, has won a $25,000 2026 Davidson Fellowship for developing RIDA, a quantum error mitigation method. His research consistently achieved lower error than two leading approaches across 100,000 test cases. The Stanford-bound student hopes his work will help advance quantum computing applications in drug discovery and materials science.
