Nepal seeks to advance electricity import arrangement due to floods
Nepal has requested advance approvals to import electricity from India starting September 2026. This request stems from generation deficits caused by recent flash floods in Nepal. India will provide any additional electricity that Nepal may need during this period. Major cross-border transmission lines remain operational and unaffected by the local damage.
