Schmidt’s Anthropic stake may yield $15–20 billion, hinges on 1% holding
Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt owns about 1% of Anthropic, according to Bloomberg, setting him up for a massive windfall from the Claude maker’s upcoming IPO. Schmidt invested tens of millions of dollars in Anthropic’s 2021 Series A round, well before Google itself backed the AI startup. With investors discussing a valuation of $1.5 trillion to $2 trillion, his stake could be worth $15-20 billion.
