Centre to train 10,000 healthcare workers in drug de-addiction by 2029
India's health ministry has initiated a program to train 10,000 healthcare professionals on substance use disorders. The program aims to improve prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of addiction to substances like alcohol and opioids. In the current fiscal year, 2,000 personnel will be trained, with further increments planned over the next two years. Training will be provided through both online and offline methods across various healthcare institutions.
