Corporate Paper issuances touch 5-yr high at Rs 2.53 lakh crore in June
Indian companies significantly boosted their fundraising via commercial papers in June, reaching a near five-year high. This surge, driven by attractive pricing, seasonal needs, and debt refinancing, saw Rs 2.53 lakh crore raised. Experts note a shift from costlier bank loans to cheaper short-term market funding, supported by ample investor demand and a stable liquidity environment. The Reserve Bank of India's liquidity infusions also contributed to favorable conditions.
