Who is Matt Lawrence? Former FA Cup finalist captain survived two fentanyl overdoses
Matt Lawrence, a former professional footballer, faced two near-fatal drug overdoses in March 2021 due to fentanyl-laced cocaine. After his first overdose, responders revived him using Narcan, but he relapsed shortly after. He struggled with addiction and feelings of depression and regret following his overdose experiences.
