India's space sector has seen significant growth since private players entered in 2020. Over 400 space start-ups now exist, attracting more than $600 million in investment. Private investment reached $187 million in 2026, with 105 authorisations issued. Companies have demonstrated launch capabilities and placed many satellites and payloads into orbit.
