Uflex, US firm Spectra enters race for proposed polymer banknote programme
Homegrown polymer science firm Uflex, in partnership with the US-based Spectra Systems, has submitted bids for the proposed polymer banknote programme as the RBI evaluates potential suppliers to manufacture polymer-based currency substrate, sources said. The programme was initiated by Bharatiya Reserve Bank Note Mudran Pvt Ltd (BRBNMPL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
