Sebi mulls Rs 5 cr securities asset route for accredited investor status for individuals
Sebi has proposed an initiative to include securities-market assets as a criterion for accredited investor status. Individuals holding five crore rupees in these assets will be eligible, thereby expanding the investor base for alternative investment funds. The regulator anticipates that approximately 3.7 lakh individuals will meet the revised standards, with investment managers playing a key role in confirming accredited status during the onboarding process.
