Ameesha Patel has clarified she is not reprising her iconic Gadar character Sakina in the upcoming period drama Batwara 1947, correcting a viral post that claimed otherwise. The actress confirmed that Preity Zinta, not her, plays the female lead opposite Sunny Deol in the Rajkumar Santoshi-directed film, which releases in theatres on August 14, just ahead of Independence Day 2026.
