Western toilet promised on IRCTC portal but not provided; commission orders Rs 20k
A 73-year-old senior citizen faced difficulties due to the absence of a promised Western toilet at Chittorgarh railway station. He initially received a minimal refund and compensation from IRCTC but sought more due to his hardships. The Chandigarh state consumer commission deemed the original compensation insufficient and raised it significantly to Rs 20,000. The commission ordered IRCTC and Indian Railways to refund the original amount with interest.
