Less-than-2-lane NH stretches shrink to 8% as high-speed corridors surge
India's national highway system has undergone remarkable enhancements, reducing two-lane stretches to only 8%. In the past nine years, high-speed corridors have expanded over twelve times. Officials note that newer expressways allow trucks to travel significantly faster than traditional highways. Plans include constructing about 51,000 kilometers of access-controlled corridors in the next ten years, aiming to boost transport efficiency and cut logistics expenses across the nation.
