Devil's Sinkhole grows by 1,218 acres after 41 years, tops 3,000 acres
Texas has significantly expanded the Devil’s Sinkhole State Natural Area, adding 1,218.9 acres to enhance visitor accessibility. The area now spans a total of 3,078.6 acres, including parts of the former Whitworth Ranch. Future developments may introduce around 10 miles of trails aimed at hiking and birdwatching, along with potential facilities like a headquarters and camping sites. This initiative will help preserve natural resources and provide greater recreational opportunities.
